More Windows7

I have installed more programs and so far they all went on and work just fine. There is supposed to be updates coming tomorrow but they are supposed to be only test updates. I have had  one problem with 7 where it just hung up and had to push reset button. Also, just had, so far, only one BSOD. Microsoft recommends certain security software for 7 but I have found pctools free software works just fine.

There are a few new games but pinball seems to be missing.   For those of you who still have and love XP they have brought back all the old games, but slightly remodelled. There is all this talk about how many versions of 7 will be available when it finally shifts but all we need to be concerned about are just two. A basic and an Ultimate, which is the version of this beta. The other four are mainly for businesses.

The next date to be entered into our calendar is April 10th. That is the date, reliably informed,  when the first ( ? ) Release Candidate is due, RC1. It will be interesting to see what has changed from now till then. It looks like shipping of final release could be nearer end of this year.

This version seems so much more stable and refined than vista was at the same point. There doesn’t seem much difference between internet explorer 7 and 8. A bit fancier maybe.

If finances allow, I think this might just be the version of windows that we will migrate to from XP. It would be great if we can get laptops with 7 on it as well. However, we could always buy the oem versions and put it on the laptops if need be.

Till next time,

David
