Did the info in the last blog help you?
There are some new guys on the block now and they want to get rid of the old stuff and give you some new.
Are you still using Outlook Express in XP? How about using Windows Mail in Vista?
Well, now you can go even better than either of them, and guess what, the newcomer is our old friend Microsoft. The new email program is called Windows Live Mail. We have just installed it and well, if we are impressed then it must be good.
A few new things that it does. Do you have more than one email account? Does it put all the mail from all the accounts into one Inbox? With Live Mail it groups mail into each account separately. it sorts out what it thinks is spam under the same groups. It also arranges your feeds as well. What are feeds you say? They are known as RSS feeds. This is what the icon looks like in Internet Explorer. RSS stands for REALLY SIMPLE SYNDICATION.If you visit a site and you can see this icon in this colour, then that means you can click on the icon and subscribe to this site. This is automatically added to Windows Live, so you don't have to faff around looking for it in Explorer. What these feeds are used for is to keep you apprised of any updates to the site. Now, if you look on the line above this page, you will see the RSS feed button. Click on it and subscribe. That is all you need to do. If you decide to go the Windows Live Mail route which I advise you do, then the feed will be automatically downloaded. This means you won't have to wonder if a new blog has been done, you will know.
To get Windows Live Mail go to http://get.live.com/wlmail .
After that, it must be time to have some fun. What about going to YouTube? http://www.youtube.com/. Seen some nice video, wish you could download it? Well now you can. What you need is Orbit Downloader. http://www.orbitdownloader.com/ . In fact, it works with more video sites. On the subject of YouTube, did you know if you did a search in YouTube for say Beatles, it will come up with all the videos of the Beatles. It should work for any I think, Try it.
Is your PC like ours. Does it take a long time to load? There is a program called Startup Delayer. This address will get you there http://www.r2.com.au/ .
Is your PC cluttered up with loads of temp files etc and is your Registry clogged up with outdated info? You need CCleaner. Used to be called Crap Cleaner, but that is what it does, it gets rid of the crap in your system. http://www.ccleaner.com/ will get it for you.
One final thing to mention on Live Mail, When you download it, you can choose to have pictures and also LIVE Writer. This blog was written in Live Writer.
See you on the flip side......................Next Time
