Windows Live Mail.....Re-visited

Installing Windows Live Mail. ( YOU MIGHT WANT TO PRINT THIS OFF).

Go to www.get.live.com/wlmail and this is the screen you should see.

Next..........click on Get Windows Live orange menu bar.

The next window you will see is.............................

1  Connect and share

 

Click on  Install button

2 File download

You will now be presented with the above screen.

Click Save

You will now be asked where you would like to save the file to, see picture below. This file is only 2.28Mb, this is just the installer.

3 save as

Choose where to save to and click the Save button.

When complete you will see the following screen.

4 download Complete

Click the Run button

You will be asked if you want to run the software

click the Run button, see screen below.

Windows Live Mail will now install the various programs see screen below.

6 Windows Live Installer

Whilst these are installing you will be asked about Windows Live Messenger. It is up to you whether you answer this now or at a later time. See screen below.

7 Windows Live Messenger

Eventually all the programs will be installed, see screen below.

8 Windows Live Installer Complete

Click the Close button.

If you set up Live Messenger you will see the screen below.

9 Welcome to Windows Live Messenger

You will also be taken to Window Live Home screen, below.

Ok, after all that, click on Windows Live Mail icon on the Desktop. You will see that it says importing accounts from Outlook Express on XP or Windows Mail on Vista. You will then see the following screen.

You should see that the accounts have been copied from the old email program and also that they are arranged in order of account and separated.

You will see at the bottom the following screen

12 feeds 

You will see the RSS feed icon that is at the top of this blog page.

If you click on this icon on Windows Live Mail you will see your feeds automatically displayed. You will see in the following screen that I have added my blog feed to this.

If you now click on the Update Feeds menu bar at the top, it will download all your feeds for you to read. See what I have done on mine, see screen below.

And that is all you have to do. I stated at the beginning that you might want to print this off to better understand what to do, I think it would be a good idea.

Oh, by the way, at the bottom of these blogs there is a survey of mine, you can take it if you wish, it would be nice to find out what you think.
